New students are welcome to start anytime. During the first class, beginning students work one on one with the Master Instructor. After learning the basic stances, and commands, students are slowly integrated into the main class.
At ATLU TKD, students are welcome to attend as many classes a week they wish.
Not likely. Students learn self-control and discipline as part of the training.
Yes. Actually, the martial arts are probably the foremost tool at your disposal for teaching children self-discipline and respect. Self-discipline is inherent in the structure of a typical martial arts class. In a good school, the students are motivated to learn how to control their actions, and to behave in a respectful and disciplined way. Eventually, the self-discipline students exhibit every day in class will become second nature and start showing up outside of class—at home and at school.
No. Because a young child, a 15-year-old teen and an adult are at different developmental stages, teaching them together would prevent each age group from receiving proper instruction and training. ATLU TKD offers separate children’s and adult classes.

While the physical aspects of the martial arts are most well known, they are but the tip of the iceberg. Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit are the core character benefits inherent in martial arts training. We make participation fun so regular exercise becomes enjoyable and a habit. The martial arts are specifically designed to develop individuals with strong minds, bodies, and character.
We welcome and encourage students from 5 years old and up.
Of course. Prospective students, friends and family are always welcome to observe classes and belt promotion tests at ATLU TKD. No prior permissions or arrangements need to be made, just come make yourself at home. Seating is available that overlooks the training floor. We do ask that you respect the students during their training, by refraining from cell phone use and loud conversations.
